Saves a lot of time and makes clean cuts
I'm in year three of residing my house with Hardie Boards. This is the first year that I've used this product. It is well-worth it. I don't know what alternatives are out there, but I was previously making custom holes the "hard way" - a utility knife as a scribe, an old chisel, a drill, and even my fiber cement shears. But THIS tool beat them all. I was able to very cleanly, quickly, and with no breaking, make 1/2 circles to join pieces around my radon pipe, and it took seconds to make some good notches where wires/cables exited my house (and I didn't want to pull, drill, and re-run them). This tool is also useful for square notches, but you'll never get the corners too square - a knife, etc., would still be necessary. This gets five stars from me for the convenience it's added.

Effective and as advertised
This is not a bad product and I have found it useful in some strange places. I have to say that I like it most of all as it fits in my back pocket so when I am on the ladder and need to make a quick "adjustment" to a piece of siding, it is easy enough. I have been using it mostly for cutting the curved cuts around my half light windows. Works well on large radius circles as well as small radius. I do use a file on the cut afterward to clean it up a bit. As another reviewer said, you can cut straight lines with it, but there are better ways to do that job.

Product Description
The Malco FCN Fiber Cement Siding Notcher scores and cuts arcs up to 4" diameter in 5/16" fiber cement siding planks. Use the FCN to make cut outs for plumbing, electrical, venting or any other needed outlets needed to pass through siding planks.
Using the Fiber Cement Siding Notcher is quick and easy just mark the outlet diameter that is to be removed from the plank. Then use the notcher to score along the marking to avoid fractures outside of the arc. Notcher may then be used to cut all the way through the plank along the pre-scored line. Top to learn more
